Setting the temperature of the room to higher degrees can be harmful for our metabolism as the body does not produce brown fat at 75 degrees. This brown fat is associated with calorie-burning cells.

What can be done:

If, before sleeping, you turn the thermostat of your bedroom below 66 degrees, it will help in the production of brown fat.

10. Your Meds

Medications can have a very bad effect on your metabolism. Metabolism is slowed especially due to antidepressants and antipsychotics. Both of these medicines are recommended by the doctors to cure schizophrenia. The medicines that lower heart rate have also an effect on metabolism.

What can be done:

If you are taking any of these medicines, then it is high time for you to consult your doctor and ask him for his say regarding the prescriptions.

Healthy carbohydrates are also a need of the body because it needs to burn carbohydrates to make insulin and at the same time excess of carbohydrates can also be very harmful.

Carbohydrates need to be kept at an optimum level in the body and a nutritionist should be consulted for this sake. Also, healthy sources of carbohydrates such as sweet potato or whole wheat flour should be consumed.
